Dancing With the Stars: Joey Fatone in "space"
Joey Fatone has honed most of his talents, and has become coordinated in various dancing styles. As a boy band member during his NSYNC days, he was required to learn hip-hop and pop-influenced dance moves. While on Broadway's Rent and Little Shop of Horrors, he had to learn blocking, which is part of musical theater. As for his stint on Dancing with the Stars, he had to immerse himself in ballroom and Latin dancing. For his 31st birthday however, he was given the chance to venture into something outrageously new.
The former contestant of Dancing with the Stars spent his 31st birthday on the "Zero-G" flight out of Kennedy Space Center . The travel site Jaunted.com explained that the flight is technically "a trip in a specially adapted plane, during which the pilot dives in such a way that the forces of gravity are briefly cancelled out. It means you can float, like an astronaut in space, for around 30 seconds at a time."
Aside from being a training tool for astronauts, the flight has also become a destination for space travel enthusiasts or thrill seekers who have enough cash to spend. Famous physicist Stephen Hawking, who has been physically disabled by Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS), has also experienced the Zero-G flight, which is also called the "vomit comet" due to the physical reaction some have during the experience.
It would probably take years until the space tourism allows just about anyone to head out to space to literally dance with the stars but it seems that Joey Fatone was bitten by the same space travel bug that bit his fellow NSYNC band member, Joey Fatone.
